Automotive Clutch Release Bearings
An automotive clutch release bearing is a major part of auto vehicle. With the development of the auto industry , different types of clutch release bearings have been developed to meet different situation. It has developed from the type of low speed unit with non-self-aligning, free outer ring, cast iron sleeve, integral of the inner ring and the sleeve, today clutch release bearings with self-aligning, rotational inner ring, pressed cover, pressed sleeve or plastic sleeve have been developed to operate under high rotational speed reliably. It achieves components integrality by reducing the weight, cost and also offering a reliable operation and long service life.

General clutch release bearings (without self aligning)
The structure of the bearing normally divided by two types. The one comes with a pressed retaining band with angular contact ball bearings or angular contact ball bearings with a rubber seal. Only the outer ring is free, have to use with cast iron sleeve. It will be replaced by self-aligning clutch release bearings progressively.
Self-aligning clutch release bearing assemblies
The self-aligning clutch release bearing has the advantage of long service life, and light in weight; it can reduce the noise level and abrasion of the matching parts. The set of angular contact balls is the core of the bearing. The features of the bearing are as follow.
1、An plastic cage is used to keep apart and guide the balls in an angular contact ball bearing, it is lighter than the traditional steel cage and can be self-lubricated, so it perform very well even under bad lubricate conditions.
2、There is the self-aligning inner ring which can rotate in the bearing. In view of the kinetics it is superior to the outer ring which can rotate in the bearing. The centrifugation that causing by rotating the outer ring against the grease will be avoided.
3、The sleeve is made of the cast iron or the reinforced polyamide 66 which is lighter than the cast iron and h as the good sliding performance, the grease can be omitted between the bearing sleeve and the metal front guiding cover muff made of the aluminum alloy. The general type clutch release bearings use grease for lubrication; dust and grinding particulates are easy to gather and stuck inside the bearing , in addition due to the increasing of the temperature, the incrustation and jam upon the front cover guiding muff will incur, the plastics sleeve gives the metal front guiding cover a dry sliding friction structure, it avoids the disadvantage by using grease for lubrication.
4、Clutch release bearings using a rubber seal which can effectively avoid leakage of the grease compare with the pressed outer ring made of steel.
